If you love to get up and move and want to encourage others to do the same, the recreation and sport minor may be right for you! As a recreation and sport minor, you will learn how to foster honest sportsmanship, become an ethical leader, communicate effectively with individuals and teams, and understand sociological, psychological and cultural aspects of sports. You’ll participate in active coursework in classes such as Badminton, Cycling, Golf, International Folk Dance, Swimming, and Adaptive Physical Activity and Sport. You can even take a two-week camping and recreation course in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northeastern Minnesota.
This minor may sound like way too much fun to count toward a diploma, but when you graduate, you’ll have the scientific knowledge and practical understanding of a variety of sports to be a successful physical activity leader!
