A degree in public relations will lead to a dynamic career with endless opportunities, whether you’re working in the business sector or for a non-profit organization. At Goshen College, you’ll learn to think critically, speak eloquently and write effectively, using your people skills to organize events and communicate important messages. You’ll also gain practical experience by working for GC’s many media outlets: The Record, the weekly student-run newspaper; The Correspondent, the student-produced television news show; or 91.1 The Globe, the award-winning college radio station.
Public relations majors complete at least two internships, many in highly competitive settings. In recent years, students have interned at Voice of America, The Elkhart Truth, and the New York City Parks Foundation. Public relations student can participate in PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America)—a unique opportunity at a private liberal arts college. Additionally, you’ll get the chance to travel abroad and apply your skills. A recent group of public relations students worked on storytelling and sustainability projects in Kenya!
