Are you someone who listens to the news religiously? Or maybe you care deeply about authentic storytelling, giving voice to the voiceless, or writing news with integrity in a world with many conflicting sources?
If so, we have you covered. The journalism major at Goshen College highlights the importance of ethical storytelling and writing for the public good while producing award-winning content. You’ll contribute to the student-run weekly newspaper, The Record, which regularly wins awards from the Indiana Collegiate Press Association, including “Newspaper of the Year” in 2016. As a journalism major or minor, you’ll complete at least two internships, likely in highly competitive news settings. In recent years, students have interned at Beacon Press, edible Michiana, The Elkhart Truth, Sojourner’s, The South Bend Tribune and Voice of America.
If you want to be challenged to write quality stories in a rapidly changing news climate, Goshen College can equip you with the skills, network and passion to succeed as a journalist in the digital era.
